I'm amazed at the achievement of this board's participants. Whitney triples, summiting 52 weeks in a row, spending days in portaledge on Keeler's Needle... amazing stuff.
Kurt Wedberg, a frequent board visitor, has just made the news again. I just ran into this news item on the Rock and Ice Magazine website.
Yosemite: Widow's Tear Rare Repeat Kurt was on a team that climbed the Widow’s Tears, America’s longest continuous ice climb. This is a 1,000 foot icefall in Yosemite that only forms in years when the conditions are just right. Word got out that this was a good year. Kurt was there with his climbing gear and camera.
Good job to Kurt and all you others who keep accomplishing things many consider impossible. I doubt if I'll ever do anything that comes close to Widow's Tears in difficulty. But even remotely knowing people who do things like this makes me feel good. I'm looking forward to reading future board posting and hearing about your exploits.
Be safe and enjoy
