I see frequent links to the colororange.com site for MR waypoints. Please be warned that the contributor of those waypoints had never done the MR before and did not know the route. He was not even aware of the Ebersbacher Ledges, which is the normal route on the MR. He states in his post: "You should now see a cliff face on the north side of the creek." That cliff is where the EB ledges are. Instead, he bush-whacked up the North Fork drainage. His waypoints are way off the normal route in a number of places. Have fun and be safe, but beware of your source. I highly recommend reading Doug Sr.'s MR route description in his book, Mount Whitney: Mountain Lore From The Whitney Store. Bob R. has also posted many excellent photos of the route.
