Did a three night backpack trip into the Mitre Basin to bag a few peaks. Mt. Pickering, Joe Devel Peak, Mt. Guyot and Mt. Langley. A full trip report is located here: http://calicokat-hiking.blogspot.com/2012/06/joe-devel-peak-mt-pickering-mt-langley.html

Here are some photos

Nice!!!! Jim! You're making up for the funky winter weather that kept messing up your plans. Don't mess with Jim! wink

I'm planning on reading your full blog while sitting in the airport here in PA later today.

I miss sharing the trail with you.

Climb on!

Hi Jim,
I enjoyed your trip report very much. It is well written with detailed description of the area. Richard P. and I went down Miter basin from Mt. Irvine and Mt. Mallory side and camped out by a small lake north side of Sky-Blue lake and went out through Crabtree pass.

I'll read your trip report many times over before my future trip there.

Thank you for sharing your trip.

That is a BEAUTIFUL section of the Sierra!

I have two strikes against me (last summer) in trying to get to those peaks + Newcomb and Chamberlain...

Looking forward to looking at the rest of the photos.

Beautiful, as usual.

I haven't decided how I want to get Chamberling and Newcomb. Either climb into Perrin Creek from Rock Creek or go over Crabtree Pass. A long way whichever way I go.
