I know that it's right next to Trail Camp, and I read on Summit Post that the easiest approach is supposed to be the north face, and it's class 3. Other than that, can't seem to find much info.

Is there a trail or at least a preferred place where I should leave Main Trail? Will I get there if I just walk around the west shore of the small lake next to Trail Camp?

How long is the detour from Main Trail to Wotans Throne and back via north face? It looks short, maybe a mile round trip, but it's hard to translate that into time without knowing conditions.

When you get to Trail Camp, look for the pond, then look for the stream that feeds it. Follow the drainage upstream. You'll be going up and to the left (NW). Keep going till the climbing looks like something you're comfortable with. You'll end up scrambling toward the summit from the NW. It shouldn't take long; you're gaining only about 700 feet from Trail Camp.

Take a look at Bob R's photo albums... you get an excellent view of The Switchbacks up there.
