Tracie,
Thank you very much for the trail report. Very nice pictures.
Your photos are very informative.
WPSMB is the only site can provide simultaneous trail update for both MR and MT.
I know you are going back soon.

Good job Tracie,Ricahr,Bob,and Karen!!!!

Shin, I'm not going back if I have to hike alone. I ran out of things to talk to myself about after my ipod broke when I dropped it. I also ran out of water half way across the back side. Two young men from Shasta were about 30 mins ahead of me. They turned around not 15 mins from the summit! I heard them tell someone later, at Outpost camp, that ropes would be necessary on the backside... Strange but I seem to have the strangest things to share at that point of the trail.

Doug, sorry I did not have a chance to see you and Earlene to say hello. I had a nice hot shower and good rest at your hostel. Thank you!

Mark, I turned around when I got dehydrated...not so badass but not wanting to win the YAI award of the month. I used the shoes between trail camp and Lone Pine Lake on the descent. And from Trailside mdw shortcut to the start of the switchbacks above Trail camp on the ascent

Hi Tracie,
Next time, you can contact 3 musketeers of BBC to accompany with you. But the budgets won't allow any Sherpas.

To be honest with you I don't have a guts to hike alone such a big mountain. I know only a few songs to keep me occupied and I don't have iPod or any gadgets so I will be lonely and go crazy within a few miles from the trail-head.

Looking forward to hearing about your next adventure.

Don't know whether Mark headed up for his summit sleep-over...

Bracci and friend(s) are up for a weekend of ice...

Speedy is meeting me at 5 at McDs...

Should be a fun (although windy again :-() weekend...

20 at Coso Junction... Winds to 59 over the crest... Good decision.

I was going up the MR, but think I'll change that to the MT. Have no desire to spend a few hours in the Couloir when it's this cold.

I would think being exposed to the wind from Trail Crest to the summit would be worse than the Mountaineers' Route. That is, if the wind didn't add too much excitement to the Final 400. Good luck either way.

Actually the forecast was off by a mile.

20 degrees up top at 1220. Light wind.

I was going to go down the MR but it was a zoo and I have no helmet with me.

Almost finished. Back at the Portal in about 30.

We'll see what the Main Trail has in store for me today. Not in this mentally, so it'll probably be tough even if the new snow doesn't make it so. (been watching a lot of StarTrek NG lately. Hard to believe that was 25years ago!)

Let's see what today has in store for us...

Another trip up the Main Trail.

Rode the motorcycle up. Someone needs to fix their septic tank in IYK.

Using new boots Salomon. I hope it doesn't turn into a disaster for my feet.

Heading up into the MT area again.

Slept up at the portal. Woke up with a headache.

It's quota season, so let's all play by the rules.

It is much better when you are In The Zone.

I thought I saw Richard heading up the trail this morning. I couldn't catch up with him, next time I saw him was at trailcrest - on his way back! He has hit mach 5 warp speed.

Thanks Tracie.

Tina and Carmen and friends showed up at the WPS just as it was closing. Would have been nice to talk.

Myles made me a couple of great grilled cheese sandwiches for a late lunch.

Headed home because of a sore head. Sorry about not sticking around for dinner.
