The west side terrain down to the JMT Junction.I went direct up to Trail Crest again. Another one of those days where skis would have been fun - 4+ inches of powder on top of the hardpack. Made for annoying cramponing...
The West Side was sheer misery with the wind coming out of the NE. Although it was calm (wind was blocked by the crest), there was loads of spindrift coming over from the east, making for DEEP, unconsolidated snow.
It was snowing as I was returning to Trail Crest. I didn't see any potential for snow in the forecast I looked at.
Here comes Winter!
