I did a solo Whitney/Muir twofer yesterday. Somebody was helivacced off the summit. I heard he broke his ankle, but I am not sure. Does anybody know what happened?

Yes, that's true. I passed by the man. I friend of mine got a good look and apparently he had a protruding bone. Ewwww. He had just finished the JMT and was on his way down. He slipped right where the snow field terminated into some talus. What a way to finish the JMT! Be careful up there...every step can be dangerous!

Thanks for the info. Yeah that's a bummer. Well I hope he heals up nicely. My hats off to him for tackling the JMT.

A woman also broke her ankle around July 21st. SAR did a search for her the morning after a call to them, but her friend had already brought her down to the portal. Yes, every step is important. I'm pretty sure she had just finished the JMT also.
