Hi Everybody! I am planning a trip to Olancha Peak and I am checking here to see if anyone has done it recently? Hoping to see your trip report.

A few of us had SPOTS on that day if you want ask and I'll see if I can get you mine and some other's spots for the day we were on Olancha.

Thank you very much everybody for the information. I have seen no pictures yet, but from what I have been able to gather I have the following general impression based on my correspondence here with hikers that have done it recently:

The trail is mostly cleared of snow, but it remains patchy in places. The snow is not deep and we should leave our snowshoes at home. It's not too hot yet so anytime soon would be a great day to climb Olancha Peak.

This seems to be the general consensus but if this doesn't jive with what you know to be true could you let us know? Also, if you have any photos and etc. that would be awesome. Thank you very much for all the help and information everybody, and thank you WPSMB! This is exactly what we needed.

Hi Kevin. The Meetup is a public group. Anyone can join.

If you want to promote your site, you might try letting people read the content to determine whether they wish to join.

Sorry. Not promoting site. It's not mine and etc.. Just looking for Olancha information, and I thought it would be polite to list the location in case somebody wanted to go with us. I got the information I was looking for and I thank you!

I don't see anything wrong with a reasonable amount of promotion of a site you believe in enough to read, use or recommend. (Not that I get to be the judge.) I think we do that any time we post a link. The advice was sincere. A lot of people consider it good computer safety practice to not give any data out "site unseen".
