I noticed that Richard P. has been bagging many peaks every week this year when I look into the WPSMB photo link. Just like a mountain lion is chasing a prey in the mountains. A mountain lion may travel 50-200 miles radius to survive according to some book. I am very curious about how many miles of traveling or hiking Richard P. has done this year so far with his 92 peaks hiking. It may be close to the mountain lion's behavior.
It must be interesting to see his Spot map of all hiking.

Many hikers count their numbers of climbs. How about distance?

Richard's feet may be going through some kind of metamorphosis.
His face already shows the sign of it.
We better watch out if we see a tail growing his back.

I've been staying close to home lately, but I consider my normal range to be Langley to Shasta. Looks like Richard is shooting for 300 summits this year!

Shin, a few things:

1. Your number is already out of date. I tried for five for the first day of the fifth month of the year, but settled for four.

2. I started a spreadsheet last week: last 12 outings: about 104 miles; about 41K feet.

3. Interesting that you mention big cat... my back was getting sore Friday night, and when it does, I have a tendency to hunch over to relieve the pain. As I was doing it, I flashed back to the story of the cyclist down in O.C. who was attacked by a mountain lion as he was hunched over working on his mountain bike. I tried to stay upright for the rest of the hike back to the bike.

4. I haven't been this light since I came home from an expedition in Nepal more than a decade ago. It sure makes going uphill a LOT easier.

BTW, Thanks.

I hate to admit it, but...

... this is the inspiration for this madness. (In case you don't recall, SierraGator did one hundred seventy something last year!!!!! I've seen his name in a lot of registers this year, so I'm sure he's doing big numbers too.)

BTW: I'm working the P500 list (plus adding some P300 peaks (that aren't in the Atlas) for stat padding) from the CA Mountain Atlas. I'm working my way north as the weather heats up. I'm sure the numbers will head south as I head north to higher elevations.

Bob, the number I'm looking for is 55x4=220. Don't ask me how/why I came up with 4x my age for a goal.
