I got a text from HypoxicZombie dude that he wanted to do Baldy on Sunday the 28th. Didn’t know but he also texted Bman, Carole, Mouse and GigaMike. GigaMike invited Wes. Then Saturday I get a text from RyanB that he was planning to do Baldy on Sunday and there you have it another WPSMB climb was in the works. Norma R and Lori Williams also showed up and we all ran into JustBob at the hut!
Richard and Shin where were you? Great day on the mountain temp at the TH was 27 at 7am. On the summit we were reading about 9 degrees, -15 with wind-chill. Great day and great times with good friends.

Well, let see...

You announce the climb after the fact and expect me to be there?

Actually, I was pretending to be at home studying for an exam required for me to attain 8570 compliance so that I wouldn't be terminated in 31 days... I scored 95.4%, attained compliance and am now contemplating the meeting I'll have with my off-site bosses regarding getting a BIG fat raise.

I sure hope you had more fun than I did yesterday... and Shin & I had on T-day. There wasn't a movie on TV yesterday that I hadn't already seen (You don't really think I had the books in front of me, do you?) and the new Bear (Grylls) Channel seems to be PPV...

Must have been a WPSMB mind-melt yesterday grin
I got up there for a late start ~10:30 and somehow managed to miss the whole WPSMB gang.
I did however run into that d*mn pit-mix dog that was barking and charging at everyone near the waterfall vista.
Luckily I had the poles handy. D*mn dog owners that let their dogs run off-leash…Grrrrr mad

Anyhow, the summit spin-drift and views were fantastic ……check out the ships near Long Beach and Catalina Island in the background cool

Richard just to make sure you know my post was just a joke...This wasn't a group hike but it turned out to be one. I was totally surpised to see everyone there I thought it was just going to be Zombiedude, Ryan and me....

Here's to hoping you get your raise!!!

A "raise" is the opposite of what you get when you work where I work.
We've "LOST" 20% of our pay and all of our overtime so far!

Good Luck Richard...

Obama calls for 2-year freeze on federal pay

I better hurry... I'm not a blue badge, but I'm sure the company I work for will use this as an excuse to pass on giving any raises in '11 and '12.

Is Baldy in a National Forest? And, are guns allowed in the National Forests?

Raise??? I haven't had a raise in over 7 years! Oh, I forgot, I've been retired for over 7 years. Never mind.

Hi Jeff,
I stayed home this weekend and helped my wife for cleaning up,putting away all junk mails, and visited my hiking friends who went to Swiss and Italian ALPS this summer.
Ryan invited me but I didn't get the message two days later. My cell phone never delivered any messages on time. I need a better cell phone.

I am very happy to hear that team H. is still very active and doing well.

Jeff,I am too old to hike twice in a week in cold weather.
Call me next time,I'll join.

A "raise".....hmmmmm. As a self employed person in this economy, my raise was a pay-cut. Whatever.....it's going to get better, right?.....right???

Richard, I’m not sure about the guns & Baldy, but all the dogs in Mexico were much more civil than that nasty Baldy pit-mix pup.

I hope/wish that Miguel has adopted Popo cool He’s an excellent hiking pup. Here’s Popo at ~15,500’ near Hut #19 on Izta

In my fondest voice...

Popo...

He was a real highlight of the trip. I do hope he didn't end up at the pound, or worse yet, as coyote food.
