I'm going to be very sleepy....*yawn* sleep
and slow since there will be a storm moving in. Storms play havoc with my metal inserts.

Richard - psssst - take a flex day. C'mon man, I haven't seen you in like, a Cheeto's age or sumpthin...

so um Pm update: After the taking of ambien, I ran out and somehow severely jammed my pinky toe. B thinks its busted, I think its fine. I've got pills for that - jeesh. I'm now only 50% for tomorrow. =(

I'll be in there in spirit Friday. As for Saturday, that would a blast too especially in the snow that's coming. Can't make that either though. I'm going to have to hike a lot in the snow to make up for missing these. grin

Can't wait for the next one, everyone have fun and be safe.

Right click on the image in your blog and choose "copy image location" (not "copy link location").
While posting a message here, click on the third icon from the left ("enter an image") and paste the image location in the window that opens up.
Here is your image.

AlanK,
I tried it but the picture shows up so large that it does not fit. How did you get this small one to show up? There is a second picture I would like to add.
Thanks!

Jeff and Kurt,

I found the word that describes the Khumbu Valley religous belief system: A blending of Buddhism and animist beliefs (that all things have a soul) including Mt. Everest.

To add the small picture, I right clicked on the one in your blog as it came up. If I left click first, I get a large version. Right clicking on that and posting it results in the huge image you undoubtedly had the problem with.

I use Smugmug, which is a photo hosting site. It gives a range of sizes for each photo, which is useful when posting them on blogs and message boards.

By the way, I should say that I enjoyed hiking with our group of 15 or so today. It was good to see some old friends and meet some new folks. Kurt's group hikes are always enjoyable. I think this was the first one with two Everest vets.

Had a great time - thanks to Cindy, Jane, Susan, Kurt, Burt and Ernie, Larry, Shin, Mark, Jeff, Mike, Flip, Scott, Alan and anyone else that was there - tried to remember all the names, good fun, good people, good laughs, good cookies (thanks Mark) and great pictures everyone look forward to the next time

So at this point I will add thanks to Jim and Ryan (from message below) as I tried to remember everyone but I'm getting old too :-)

Thanks everyone for a great hike up Baldy. Ryan (my nephew) and I (one of the old guys) had a fantastic time and he was jazzed to hike with two Everest climbers. That cookie at the summit was tasty, better than Grandma's! Larry and Cindy: it was an absolute pleasure talking with you two on the hike up and on the hike down. I'll see you guys at REI on the 4th.

Hi there! I was not part of the hike but I knew about it but could not make the 6 am start. I was coming out of an ankle fracture injury I had last April and was anxious to get back get to hiking so I hiked Mt Baldy on a late 10 am start with Kenyan friend, George and was hoping to meet the two Mt Everest Vets and we were blessed to meet both Cindy (at just below the hut) and Kurt before the group left the ski hut. Kurt's "swahili" is very good...:-)
