Forgive me if this question is beyond the scope of this message board.

I checked summitpost.org for info about Langley, Irvine and Lone Pine Peak and couldn't find much. I'm looking for a straightforward Class 2 to easy Class 3 scramble route if I don't get a permit for the MR, and these three peaks seem to pop up in my search.

Would my best bet be to check w/ the Ranger Station in Lone Pine (books, maps & tips from rangers), or does anyone know if R.J. Secor's book provides a good description of routes such as this? Any other good sources or details?

Thank you.

Didn't you just ask essentially the same question in another thread? With a great answer from Steve Larson? (I'm just looking to boost my post count...)

Langley is straight forward. Get to the top of Army Pass, hang a right head for the southwest side of the mountain. There must be almost as many routes as people who head up there. Find one you are comfortable doing.

My advice for Lone Pine Peak is buy one of Doug's Whitney Maps and ask him to sketch the Class 2 route on it. He did it for us a few years ago and it was money. It will be the best $2.00 you have ever spent.

Richard,
About the repeat message: No, by the time I sent the second message, I had narrowed the MR alternates down to 3 peaks and was requesting sources of info for specific routes.

However, the questions were closely related, so I can certainly understand if someone were to think it was essentially the same message.
