There was a website with the USDA, I believe, that showed the permits currently issued and availability - can someone please direct me to this site?

Thinking about doing the MR in the next month or two.

Thanks!!

Day hike or overnight? Day hike requires a Main Trail day use permit. Overnight requires a J34 permit, not the overnight Main Trail version.

you can find both links on the right hand column of this page:
http://fs.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsinternet/!ut/p/c4/04_SB8K8xLLM9MSSzPy8xBz9CP0os3gjAwhwtDDw9_AI8zPwhQoY6BdkOyoCAPkATlA!/?ss=110504&navtype=BROWSEBYSUBJECT&cid=FSE_003756&navid=160100000000000&pnavid=160000000000000&position=BROWSEBYSUBJECT&ttype=main&pname=Inyo National Forest- Recreation Passes & Permits

However, I think that they update those pages and put the date that they are updated at the top of the page.

Still wondering about the J34 permit - what exactly is that? Are there limitations?
