After Whitney in March, and Shasta in April, I've spent most of May doing local hikes in southern Nevada. I'm thinking about trying another 14er in June. Any suggestions?

My favorites are Mt. Russell and Mt. Williamson. If you have a few days you can get a two-fer with Williamson and Tyndal from the Williamson Bowl and a Three-fer with Russell, Whitney and Muir from the North Fork of Lone Pine creek (Mountaineer's Route).
Enjoy!

Thanks for the reply. One of my friends has permits for Williamson and Tyndall, so I'll be going there on July 10-13.

Regarding Mt. Russell, since it's near Whitney, is it difficult to get an overnight permit?

Russell is a sweet climb, but it‘s on the stink’in Whitney permit system.

Middle Palisade is my next favorite, but snow this June may complicate the extensive class 3 climbing.

Split physically is a killer, but a good snow pack, like this year, makes it a lot better climb.

Thanks for the suggestions. I guess that mid-September might be a good time for Russell.

I climbed Split Mountain a few years ago in late summer, and the road leading to the trailhead was pretty rough. Has there been any change in that road?

Latest update: I'm heading to Langley on June 19-20.

Then Williamson and Tyndall in July.

In August, maybe Middle Palisade or Sill, but no definite plans yet.
