Hi Sam,

Yes, you still have to hike up the road. I have a few photos of the road : here

Looks like a grand day. Doesn't Bessie have a snowscreen compartment?

Nice! Thanks for sharing, Blooty! I had to do a double-take to figure out it was a dog, blush

Thanks Dave! I wanted to climb Telescope this weekend but it was way too windy. It is on my wish list. whistle

Jimbozoom, time was 7.5 hours from car round trip. No snow shoes, though they would have come in handy above Lower Boy Scout Lake.

Eman, the hidden gene struck again. I had so many clothes and stuff crammed in my pack that I was too lazy to dig out the sun screen. I am really paying for that now. At least I had 70spf on my face - which still got sunburned - but the arms are lobsters.

Nice going, Blooty! I'm also impressed by your time, but not surprised. I remember our Whitney day hike last year and you were pushing me all the way back to the portal!

Thanks Richard blush I wouldn't be out there at all if not for the kindness, guidance and inspiration I've received from the folks on this board such as yourself, Gigamike, Norma, Jack & Betsy and Doug Sr, to name but a few.

I think I made a geographical error on the location since I've only been there once before. Might have just been Upper Boyscout. Someone who knows the area better than me can see by the photos. blush

Just a little day hike, eh? grin Nice job Tracie!! It's great to see some photos of the Whitney Zone. Didn't realize how much i miss it. Did you see any evidence of slide activity?

Hi Norma! I saw no slide evidence - but that's not to say there wasn't some above. Richard could probably give a better report on that.
