Alan from St Louis posted this last year on 12-10-08. Thought it was a cool post. Some people don't keep track some do. Anyways' I thought it was cool. Richard and Mike if you reply put a link to your sites, your summits will take an entire page. Alan's original email from last year is below.
As the end of the year approaches, time for a retrospective. What peaks did you climb this year? (ok, Moosie...we know your list will take a whole page!!) What did you learn? What are your plans for 2009?
I'll kick things off...
Nathan and I hiked up Humphreys Peak in Arizona back in September. That brought his state highpoint total to 40 and mine to 42.
Plans for 2009 are still developing but I'd like to do Hood and Rainier next summer.

================ Total: 148 New Peaks: 38
Throw in the 9 times I was on top of Mammoth and June Mountains and the total would be........ who cares.
This was way too much work... The only other time I think I've kept track was when I wanted to do at least 50 of the Sierra Club's Hundred Peaks List in a year. I won't be doing it anymore.
I want to see SierraGator's list. I've seen multiple entries by him in so many registers in the Southern Sierra that he's got to be way up there in numbers.
=============
There were plenty of highlights:
Lone Pine to Mt. Whitney Horseshoe Meadows to Mt. Whitney Mt. Whitney via Meysan Lakes Willy / Tydall in a day Main Trail Double MR Double Triple Reverse etc etc etc
San news with the deaths of Kent Ashcraft, Wade Burnette and the Korean woman who died on the MR.
===========
Here's hoping the New Year will be just as fun...

Richard,
That is quite an extensive list of climbs. I don't think I took my dog for walk that many times. How many Clif Bars do you go through in a year?

Those state highpoints are fun - it's great seeing other parts of the country while chasing the highpoints. In 2009 my state highpoints were Kings and Marcy. Hopefully, in 2010 it will be Hood and Gannett.

Wow! Quite a list. Which route(s) did you climb on El Capitan? I was with my nephew, so rather than speedclimb the Nose, I went up the tourist route with him. We went up the Falls Trail. Very interesting and fun experience. Felt like we were in a petting zoo down low, and then the animals started acting like they don't like humans as we walked over to El Cap. Lots of walking in the rain that day too. It was the day that someone died in a fall off the cables on Half Dome. How many Clif Bars do you go through in a year? None. I like Cheetos, Subway sandwiches and any form of candy.

Richard I'll never be able to come close to your list but my goal was to beat my 2009 list. With yesterday's summit of Mt Baldy my 2009 peak list was 32 a personal best. My only regret was Whitney was not one of them:
Baldy (14x) San Gorgonio (6X) Jepson Peak (4X) Thor Peak (New Peak) & highlight of 2009 Zahniser Peak (New Peak) Little Charlton (New Peak) Charlton (New Peak) San Jacinto 1x Miller Peak (New Peak) Trail Peak (New Peak) Mt Dana (New Peak)
So My 2010 resolution is to up the total peaks, new peaks and get more San Gorgonio climbs in. I'm looking forward to Shasta and Mt Alta with my friend Adam S and Rainer with Kurt W....

You are right about it being too much work keeping up with it all.
I got behind on maintaining my spreadsheet (peaks, elevation gain, mileage) for the year. 2007: 154 summits 2008: 120 summits, 694 miles, 268k elevation gain 2009: 140-150 ish summits, approx 750 miles, close to 300k elevation gain.
Personal highlights for me:
I started the year off in the Vegas area and was fortunate enough to be able to move back home to the Sierra in March. Lots of midweek, after work training hikes and busting it on the weekends. A couple of firsts for me were doing the MR double and summiting Whitney ten times in one year. Going to try and do the MR double an annual thing. Other highlights include: Whitney from Lone Pine Langley to Whitney Half Dome
Already constructing the wish list for 2010 and feeling very fortunate to have the Sierra for a playground.

What is the official elevation of Mt Whitney? I see you list 14505; I always thought it was 14497.

Here's hoping the New Year will be just as fun... I'm bored at home since I haven't got out since early April. Richard you going to try to break this record this year? My quest to break mine looks like it's on hold. Only thing I've summited lately is the little hill in front of the Baskin Robbins...
