Saturday the 11 my friend and I went on a training hike to San Jacinto. The Deer Springs trail is 19 miles round trip and compaired to the whitney trail it is a perfect warm up. Has anyone else been on it. P.S. Photos coming soon on my website

That is a good route. A popular run with some friends of mine is to go up the Deer Springs route through Little Round Valley to the top of the mountain and loop back around Marion Mtn. through Wellman Divide on the way back to Strawberry Junction. This avoids some back tracking, too. Makes it kind of a lolly pop configuration.

We're thinking of going up the Deer Springs trail to Little Round Valley on Aug 30th and we're wondering if there is any water along that route?

We could go the other side past Wellman's Cienega but I don't know if the water is flowing there this time of year either. Anyone been up there lately?

We were just in Little Round Valley (came up from Stone Creek Campground via Marian Mnt) two weeks ago and there was water to filter in two places beore Little Round Valley and plenty of water in the campground stream in Little Round Valley!
