Hello,

I came down the main route last night at around 11:30 pm or so and took a seat on the bathroom concrete slab for awhile. I woke up this morning after I had made camp in the overnight hiker camp behind the restrooms and realized I didn't pick up my camera. Obviously someone already came across it just lying there.

I'm offering a reward for the return of the camera and my Whitney memories on the card in addition to shipping should you live far away. If someone here checking the forum found my camera please email me at mtv8dmarine at gmail dot com. Otherwise call me at 626 224 4390.

If you did find the camera and have such a desire as to keep it please at least contact me and return my memory card with my photos. I don't care, make up an email address or whatever. They are my memories from my 40 miles in 2 day trip there. I will not ask questions or anything of the sort. I just want my memories.

Thank you very much!

Scott... most of the people who are active on the board are out and about for the weekend. If your camera was found by someone active here then 1- it's safe... don't worry and 2- you'll get it back. Give it a couple of days though for everyone to get home from the long weekend...

Another suggestion... give the Hostel a call and ask if they know of anyone turning in a camera up at the Portal Store... Doug Sr and/or Earlene would know if something had shown up!!!

Yeah I figured most are gone for the long weekend. Just gave it a bump since it slid to the second page. =)

I called the store and the gal said they turned everything over to the forestry office in town. Called the forestry office this morning and talked with the gal there and left my info. It was my first time up so you know how it is trying to keep memories intact. =) So I'm just trying to keep all available contact options open. I do apologize if it's annoying.

Scott~

Not annoying at all.. not by any means.. I just didn't want you to be sitting up there stressing for the next couple of days when there really wasn't goign to be anyone around here on the board to answer...

I'll keep my fingers crossed that it shows up... but I think you'll get it back... stuff is always lost then found...

I hope so too. I learned along the years that outdoor enthusiasts whether it be hikers, climbers, etc., are for the most part good people and do the right thing.

If you haven't already done so, notify the Ranger's Station (Sierra Interagency Vistor Center--where you got your permit) in Lone Pine. Not everyone knows about this board, but everyone should pass through the center and would likely let them know about a found camera. Phone is 760-876-6200.

Good Luck!
