I'm bringing my Boy Scout Troop to the portal next weekend. What have the temps been like there recently? We are staying at the family campground. Just wondering how much extra gear to bring for the boys who aren't as prepared as they should be.

If you see them having a good time and behaving themselves they are with Troop 332 out of Wildomar. If they are screwing around and causing trouble, they're with SoCalGirl's Troop. (or will be)

Great to see you taking the Troop in. I will be taking some Eagle Scouts in the weekend of June 27th. We are really looking forward to it. As far as clothing goes, I have done this trip three other times at various times between June and September. I always wear fleece pants over shorts, fleece jacket over a long sleeve shirt over a short tee sleeve shirt, a beenie and gloves and I pack a ball cap, windbreaker and a pancho. This is the minimum that I require scouts to bring. I shed layers as I go and once on the summit I seem to always put everything back on. Once I start the decent I shed layers again as I go. Only one time did I get cold with this combo and have to retreat to the shelter on the summit but that was the last weekend in September and the wind was blowing like mad. Have fun

So.. what you're saying.. is that you're going to send them to me to be properly disciplined and then I send them back to you for the good times? Isn't that just the way it goes??? I have to be the big bad guy... you get to be the fun party guy... jeesh... you have all the fun!!!
