The fact that some people find this pathetic thread funny only proves that some people are very easily entertained. Usually the same people who blow spit bubbles when they're bored.

yes, probably the same mentally impaired folks who think h omophonic names like "Hugh Jass" and "I.P. Freely" are funny.

Ummm...how did the name Hugh G. Rection get past the censors? Say it fast. Get it? Don't need that stuff here.

My birth name is Hughley Gustav Reyksion. I am of Scandanavian descent. My parents immigrated here from Iceland. My Grandather was the former Mayor of Reykjavic, Iceland. A very prestigious position. My family has a very important place in Scandanavian history. I have been subjected to ridicule since I was in grade school for my name.

My heritage being from Iceland, and my family having a history of enjoying Alpine mountain climbing led me to this board.

It is very important in our culture to pass the family name down to males. It is more important to me to retain my given name, than to bow down to the usual abuse I've been subjected to for most of my life.

Yes, my name has been abbreviated, as has most Scandanavian's coming to this country. My given name is Hughley Gustav Reyksion. It has been abbreviated to Hugh G. Rection to make it sound more American.

We have a love of hiking, climbing, and alpine snow climbing, as I'm sure most of you do too.

My Father and Grandfather have adopted to this new American Name with no problem. It is my duty to carry on this heritage and carry the name with pride, regardless of ridicule..

I hope I am welcome in future posts on this board, because my passion is with the mountains.

You sure that your abbreviated name wasn't an over compensation for the affects of all that cold weather on your hither regions? With all that shrinkage I would think you would just use the nickname you earned while showering in gym glass - Tiny really isn't a bad nickname. And we all know that most Scandanavians have Erik somewhere in their name so just stick with your given name and your real middle name Erik -

Tiny E Rection

GAWD!!!!!!!!!

You guys are killing me!!!!

Now I just spilled coffee all over my work clothes!!!

I would only recommend to Andreas that the next time Jehovah Wintenesses come knocking on his door (sea level or 14+k'), and ask: "Can we get you to become a JW?"

Just tell them: "I'm sorry, I didn't see the accident!"
