Cool, I'm sure we'll see you up there. I think I typed it somewhere but I'll do it again here. The plan is:
Leave the portal Sunday Morning around sunrise hopefully summit Russell and Carillon. Depending on the time of day we get back down we'll camp at UBSL or Ice burg lake.
Our original plan was to finish the Whitney climb with packs and continue over to Mt. Muir, and descend via the Whitney trail, camping at trail camp. It sounds like there may be too much snow and ice on the final 400 to do this safely. Perhaps someone can provide some input on this idea? Am I too ambitious thinking this is possible with packs and snow? If we think it's too risky I suppose we'll change our plans and descend via the MR again.
I'm sure you'll see us. I'll have either a black fleece or a orange and gray marmot softshell. My pack is green and gray, and our tent is a Kelty Radiant 2 (yellow and black). It would be cool to run into some "familiar" faces.
