Joe you forgot to remind people to turn the bottles in the wine racks in the summit hut on the 15th of each month. Vintage 1936 it was a good year:

1936 Armagnac, Nismes-Delclou

Velvety smooth. There are oodles of fruit to be found; apricots and prunes and soft floral flavours with a very long, silky finish.

Origin/Category: France ; Armagnac ; Nismes-DelclouAbout Nismes-Delclou

Style: Ready, but will keep, 40% alcohol

Availability: Only 9 Bottle(s) Remaining. Eight at Whitney summit hut, and Doug has one hiding under the counter at the Portal Store.

Price American: approx. $349.73 per 70 ml.

Apologies for this lame attempt at humor.

Now might be a good time to delete this silly thread which has lasted a year already.

Whew .. if nothing else, dude (Andreas) possesses fabulous writing prowess!

I re-read all the threads one after the other … now I’m all mixed up … something like … > a beautiful blonde has gas in her backpack … but then, he ate the rocks she left behind that she used for balancing her weight … she exploded after seeing his marmot pelt … someone named “Hugh G. blankity-blank” is articulating complex passages about Scandinavian name origins … while our writer lad is “witnessing” a religious rebirth as Jehovah …

I am agog as I await the sequel!!!

Probably called something like:

“The erect pelt covered rock was witnessed in a light weight gaseous backpack by a blonde!!”
