Candace-
Thank you for your kind words. I hope that our lessons learned may help someone else. We all had such an awesome time that we are planning a trip to Whitney for next year and plan to do some other summits later this year. I want to thank everyone on this board for their advice, help, and support.

Just a brief word on Diamox. I have previously experienced headaches and nausea on prior trips above 10,500'. Always the first night and always feel fine in the morning. Just a difficult first night. As I only had one night on my recent Whitney adventure, I got a prescription for Diamox. I took one pill every 12 hours beginning 48 hours prior to ascent.

I experienced no headache no nausea. I felt strong all the way to the summit. No real side effects, just urinate a lot. I did hydrate very well prior to and during the hike.

My experience with Diamox was positive.
