Does anyone know for sure when Secor's High Sierra 3rd Edition is going to be released?

When I pre-ordered it back in May, it was supposed to release in Aug 08, then Sept 08, now Jan 09.

I won't be able to emotionally handle another slip. I want it before the winter season has come and gone. I should've just bought the old one (sigh).

Thanks,
Brad

I spoke to RJ tonight. He seems to be well, although he tells me that he has basically stopped outdoor activities for the time being.

He told me regarding the new edition, that everything is finally finished, except the index, which is being finished by the editors. He expects it to be out in the next couple of months, at the latest.

I'm not sure the precise effect that it has had on the project, but RJ mentioned that his father died a few months back, and he has been consumed with the issues involved with that.

Ken,
Thanks for the information. I had assumed Mr. Secor's role in the printing/releasing process was complete and that the delays were from the editors/publishers.

I am sorry to hear about his father. Please send him my sincere regards.

I am really looking forward to this release. I hope Mr. Secor has not hung up his hiking boots for good. I would love to personally meet him, join him on a climb, and have him sign my 3rd edition.

Will do.

Also, RJ has been a speaker in the past, although not in the last couple of years. I found him engaging, with an interesting sense of humor. If he is going to appear anywhere, I'll be sure to post it. I've always found him gracious in signing books.
