Hey RP!
It was nice bumping into you on Saturday. My buddy and I summited at 9am yesterday. You were right, we should have got back down to Iceberg around 7. The snow was extremely soft on the way down.

A bit blurry..because I really zoomed in on it, but my very 1st time to view Whitney, the Needles and Muir with an almost full moon taken on July 28th the day before the full MOON....it was quite a site to watch that moon 1st show itself creeping slowly up and over the ridge....it was absolutely beautiful and something I may never see again in my lifetime! Richad beautiful picture you got there!

The summit of Mt. Whitney on September 15, 2007 at 11:33am.

Are you in this photo? I count more than a dozen people on the summit in this photo.

Fun fact: Did you know you can see the Smithsonian Summit Hut from the summit of Mt. Russell? I didn't until Mike asked if it was possible that we were seeing it.

Three out of six of us made the summit in very adverse conditions. You'll have to look for MT's report to find out who they were.

View of Mt. Whitney from just below the summit of Thor Peak.

BTW, this may be the last addition to this thread! (Not getting melodramtic, but I've heard rumors that the Web Cam is going to be back online SOON! I started this thread some time after it went down a few years ago.)

Well, since Doug and Steve seem to have made a liar out of me:

This is as good as the view got on Christmas Eve...

Since I couldn't get a photo of our favorite thing, I decided I'd shoot one of our other favorite places:
