Got to meet Sierra Royalty Moosie,Steve C and Dave and of course Laura's "rents" in the Valley on Saturday 10/11. Roads were closed all over including Tioga Road to May Lake. So the hike to Mt Hoffman was changed.
My wife and I got to Tenaya Lodge on Thursday to warm mid 70's temp. It was warm enough to lay by the pool, shirtless in shorts, and soak up sun.Friday AM temps dropped into the low 40s with wind. We hiked to the top of Vernal Falls and by late afternoon it was snowing lightly.Sat. AM was 31 degrees when we left Fish Camp to meet Steve C, Laura and Dave for the hike to Hoffman.Due to snow in the area roads were closed which changed all the hiking plans. The low temps made me bow out of hiking to stay with my wife who didn't want to sit outside and freeze while we all hiked.Hey I am not a total pig.Hope you all enjoyed the Sam Adams Octoberfest and coffee cake(my favorite).
Sat. afternoon brought even more snow. It was beautiful watching it snow from inside a warm toasty room.Certainly the weekend brought a full compliment of weather. It was a wonderfull time on the western side of the Sierras.
