Hi, all.

A few years ago, I saw very cool photos that showed the four or five options (the different 'chutes') to the top of Whitney from the notch. One picture had the options marked with red lines, and the other didn't. These may have been taken by Bob R., but I'm not sure. (I think I saw the same image -- or one very similar -- behind he cash register at the WP store.)

Anyone know where I can see these? Bob?

For the average person there are two options.

Turning left and climbing up the staircase, the first chute.

Continuing straight across the scree field until you come to the summit ridge. This is called the easy traverse.
