I use my Raichle Mt.Peak for spring and fall hikes, in spring I smear alot sno-seal before my snow hikes and put some on after my hikes for storage and have had no problems..My summer backpacking boots are Lowa Tanark the best I have had for on trips in warm weather..

My all around hiking boot is LL Beans "Mountain treads".Now that's Quality...mark

Hi OK One boot story I would wear out boots in about 6 months while I was working soil conditions rain ,snow, sweat etc, so one day my brother and I go to a name brand boot company tell the specialist what happens and show him several pairs of worn out boots he says I needed his boot and they would last years "a crane operator buys a pair about every 5 years" . We left the store proud , about to the car my brother says crane operators walk alot?
My brother was a trail builder for about 5 years in the early 60's he had the same problem with boots and clothing lasting and keeping warm, he walked some of the trails he built last summer and 2005 spent several weeks with a pack company in the Sierra. Oh in 1982 he had a heart attack and was told to stay 15 mimutes from a town. Thanks Doug
