If the Portal Store is out, check the ranger station / visitor center where you pick up your permit. They usually have them. Don't know if you can reserve one ahead of time with a phone call... Maybe Doug Sr. can help out here??
Hi We have plenty of cans, so we do not think you need to place a hold on cans, we keep about 30 in town for scout groups also that may not plan on entering at the Portal. Thanks Doug
On Wednesday night we had two sightings of a bear. We are not sure if it was the same or two different bears, but they were roaming around the portal at 9:30 pm. We rented our bear vaults at the visitor's center.
