I'm sure all of us on the board are happy you had such a great trip up the main trail back in 2001. If you should do the MR, we hope that will also be a good trip. The feasibility of such an undertaking, however, depends on a number of factors. Full moon in July will occur about July 13. With El Nino conditions, the MR may have snow in the couloir through most of the month, and since full moon occurs about July 13, the likelihood of snow is more pronounced. There may also be ice conditions above the Notch. While the chutes above the Notch are easy Class-3 for most climbers, we do not know your climbing experience. If you are comfortable with Class-3, that would be a help. With snow and possible ice conditions, full-moon climbing is more problematic and, of course, more dangerous if you do not clearly see where you are stepping and placing your handholds. I think the MR is a great experience, but we hope you do it safely. Daylight gives you the best visibility for route finding, whereas moonlight reduces your overview considerably, especially since you've never done it. I've seen people turn back at the notch during daylight because they could not figure out the route to the summit. We hope you make the right decision(s) and have another great trip!
