FYI, Lone Pine resident Army Corporal Wayne M. Geiger, 23, lost his life in Iraq on Oct. 18 in the line of duty. Wayne is the first casulty in the war for the Owens Valley. His parents both work for Inyo County Sheriff. All flags are at half mast. The motorcade procession to Lone Pine will leave Bishop at approximately 9:50 am tomorrow, Saturday, and end up in Lone Pine at 11:00 am. Those who are travelling 395 might want to be aware of this procession, as it may cause some slight delay in their travel. Our hearts go out to Wayne's family.

Hi We watched Wayne grow up , his dad reported many of the rescuses when we only had a radio telephone and his mom worked at Lee's before it expanded .Cherida, Nick, Katy all went to school with Wayne. Everyone in Southern Inyo County is aware of the tragic event and will pay their respect at the services. Thank You
