I don't think privatization is a serious threat. Rather, entertainment corporations support national forest fees around Los Angeles because it makes their entertainment offerings more competitive. The higher the fees, the less likely Joe Sixpack will go hiking.

A $250 fee? That's a great way to ensure that only the rich get to enjoy the wilderness. (Plus, just like the current fees, it would simply go into general funds.) I couldn't afford it. Do our parks belong to everyone or just to the wealthy?
