I got to meet Doug Robinson today in person and see him scale Pratt's Crack, up Pine Creek, near Rovana, where there are several popular spots to climb. Doug autographed my 1920's vintage Stubai ice axe, and my Norman Clyde book. Needless to say, I am stoked! He's a living legend around here. He knew Clyde in his last years, and he also wrote the forward for the late Smoke Blanchard's book, Walking Up and Down in the World.

Doug showed great form going up - he is in his early 60's. He was being photo'ed for an upcoming article in Climbing by Bruce Willey. Doug resides over on the coast now but makes forays over here often to guide clients on climbs.

Ok, well, just had to brag about my good fortune!

Hey that's great! I met Doug once too, and he was nothing but an amazing guy. Nice and easy to talk to as well. Wish I could have been there.
