Kit, when you start up the North fork the trail winds through the forest on the North side and then crosses over to the south side for a while. This is before you get to the Ebersbacher ledges.
Bob R. showed us a new route, which stays on the north side the whole time, and does not cross back over. It saves some time getting to the Ebersbacher ledge area and is an interesting alternative.
