Hello all,

I am just curious what the snow conditions are like up the main mt. whitney trail? I would assume there is little snow pack left, but I thought I would ask. Thanks!

I summited friday- it was awesome. Little snow and ice on the switchbacks and ridge, but easily negoiated with trekking poles. Yak trax can be helpful on those sections, but not necessary.

Rather than have two parallel threads, can we just use the one thread: Snow ice at the switchbacks? Updates anyone?

I agree, Steve. I'll put up a full trip report from this weekend in the next day or so.
