i had a fun day yesterday for my first trip to Mt Whitney. my group was a little slower than my pace, but i kept leap frogging w/ Doug Sr (i think that was you leading the group up the MR and down the MMWT). it was great to get some first hand beta on ascending the MR and some of the cool little short cuts and such. i meant to thank you before i left the store last night, but i wanted to get back to the campground to get things going for my buddies who got back an hour later.
in case folks were wondering, i left the Portal trailhead with some friends at 4:45am to do the MR. i got to the Summit around 12:45pm. i stayed on the Summit till 2:30 when my buddies arrived so we had group pix. i made it back to the Portal trailhead around 7:30pm. overall i had a great time and can hardly wait to return. i am hoping to come back and do a winter ascent of the MR. we'll see!
