Hi Snow from Iceberg to the notch can be avoided by climbimg left of the gully. from the notch to the summit very small section of ice 1-10 feet max and with care can stay on rock to the summit, start as normal move left then at the snow move right to the normal down climb rib, still alot of air for non climbers Thanks Doug

I'm planning my first attempt on the MR on Sept 18th. I would appreciate update on current conditions. My main concern is whether I'll need to log ice axe and crampons up there. Any recent updates would be much appreciated!

Hey Stomper,

I will be doing the MR on 9/18 for the first time also. Send me an email and we can swap notes and plans.

We will be doing the East Buttress on the 18th.
We will be leaving from the car around 4am. Heading down the main trail after the climb most likely unless we top out early, if we do top out early we may head down the Moutaineers Route.

Was up there on Sept. 4 06. No ice axe or crampons needed at that time. Conditions can change, including time of day as run-off starts freezing up more and more with the shorter days.
