Tom Harrison has a map of the Whitney Zone that is smaller than the one for the whole Park that Jessica mentioned (also Tom has a smaller, more detailed map of the Kearsarge Pass area, and one for Bishop Pass which works well for the whole Lake Sabrina area). If you just want a map of the Whitney Zone it is perfect.
The 7.5's are great too, but I think that the Harrison maps are more durable, and they do what I need, which is largely just to help me verify the other peaks I am looking at from the summit of the one I'm on.
Also, another option that I have used in the past is to use software such as Topo, MapSource, or National Geographic that is used with a GPS device, but instead of loading a route into the GPS, I just get the contour lines to a nice fine scale, zoomed into the peak or area of interest and print it out and take that with me.
