Mt. Whitney Portal Store & Hostel Forums General Mt. Whitney Portal Store Message Board climbing partner for MR

I am planning on climbing Whitney and hopefully Russel around the 14th of June. Does anyone planning on climbing the mountain around that date want a partner? I plan on just getting a mountaineering route permit the day before, but want a little company on the trip in case of a mishap.

Are you doing these as dayhikes or are you planning on packing in and climbing both from UBSL? I plan on doing the same thing around that time and wouldn't mind some company either.

I was planning on doing an overnighter, but if you want to do a day hike, that could work to, just makes for a long day. I was just going to bring the bare minimum for camping, and stay either at iceburg or upper boyscout lake with a bivy sack.
