This may be slightly off-topic, but I'm planning a spur-of-the-moment trip to June Lake with my 2 kids next week and wonder if anyone has any suggestions for good, reasonable lodging.

I've checked the June Mountain web site and junelakechamber.org, but there's lots of choices. Any recommendations? Thanks,
-Thomas

I just made reservations for three nights next weekend at June Lake Pine Cottages (760) 648-7522. It's a nice cabin with a kitchen, wood burning stove and fireplace along with wood droped off at your door each day. The rate I was quoted was $95.00 each night. They don't have a website but the guy on the phone was super helpful. Hope this helps.

Best Western in Lee Vining is not a bad choice either. It's only 15-20 minutes from June Lake.

But is you stay in Lee Vining, you can't enjoy the sites and sounds of "THE TIGER BAR". Stay in June Lake.

Thanks for the input so far. I'll definitely have to try the Tiger Bar!

I've stayed here a number of times:

The kids do the housekeeping. Great family and nice, although rustic, accomodations.

I stay at June Lake all the time.

Here are some recommendations...

June Lake Pines Cottages...Inexpensive, in town and a good value...It ain't the Ritz.

Reverse Creek Lodge...It's down canyon near June Mountain. The cabins are smaller than JLPC but the have a bit more ambiance.

Whispering Pines...Real nice but a little more expensive than the other two.

Go to the Double Eagle Resort for Breakfast the views to Carson Peak are worth a visit.
