Has anyone been to the summit of Mt. Whitney recently? I want to propose marriage up there this Saturday (11/13) and need to make sure I can get myself and my girlfriend up there. The goal is to leave early Friday morning for LBSL, summit Saturday morning by way of the Mtnrs Route,and hike/glissade back out by Sat. night at dark. We are both experienced and in good shape. Think I can pull it off? I would love as much info as possible.

I was up there this weekend. Conditions were great. We did not neet snowshoes....but I believe they got some snow Sunday night. Trail was a little hard to follow if yu dont know the route but the snow was only a few feet deep on the trail. Very nice during the day...COLD!!! at night. Good luck and congratulations!!!
