I have been meaning to post this for some time, and finally got around to it...

During my summer backpack from Onion Valley to Whitney Portal, I had a run-in with a bear stealing food from my pack. He took my pack and ran, and I chased him to get it back. I got it back in the end, but the bear first got a swipe at me and ripped my pants. Fortunately for me I was not hurt, and I hope I have learned a lesson.

The story is pretty long, so I posted over on the other <a href="http://www.xsorbit3.com/users/sierranevada/index.cgi?board=Mt._Whitney&action=display&num=1095695795&start=0" target=_new> Whitney website.</a>
