Left the trailhead at 4:30AM and reached the
first window beyond Trail Crest at 10:00AM. It
was cloudy with snow flurries so we aborted
the hike and turned back. Near Trail Crest
we experienced heavy snowfall with accumilation
on the trail. Near the switchbacks the weather
cleared and we headed back to the summit. We
summited at 1:30PM. We reached the Portal at
8:30PM. It was a long grueling hike but well
worth the effort.
