I am going to do an overnighter in the Grand Canyon in April. Any good message boards?

Be prepared for anything as far as temperatures go.

I hiked down to the river in mid-April a number of years ago. I think was 102F the day I arrived and did some day hiking till I got my overnight permit. (I had come up from Tucson and recall that they reported it was the earliest they had hit "triple digits" - temps over 100F)

Hiked down and it was still warm. Hiked halfway out to camp at Indian Gardens and awoke to snow flurries. Spent one more night at the rim and awoke to very cold temps as I went to the rim for sunrise. It was 18F

So quite a range of temperatures. I don't imagine that is normal but maybe possible.

Beautiful.

There are two high traffic Grand Canyon forums on Yahoogroups.
