Anyone up there lately? Is there much snow? We're going up Shepherd pass this weekend, and coming out over Russell-Carillon Pass the following weekend. Should we bring crampons & ice axe? I'm thinking we won't need them, but if we have snowfields I would be more comfortable with crampons. Any info would help. Thanks!

What little snow is left up there softened up pretty quickly in the sun. You should be fine without any special gear.
