Where are the restrooms on the trail?

I guess they are at:
Portal
Outpost Camp
Trail Camp
Summit

Right?

Yeah, the summit can is near where the MR tops out, so you may get a surprise if you linger...

Probably what you might really like to know (along the lines of the "Whitney Toilets Decision" thread) is will the toilets be open or not?

If the rangers are making a decision re the above thread "by default" by simply not servicing / opening the toilets up for the season, then the fact that they're there isn't going to do you much good.

Anyone know when they typically bring them back on-line?

The restrooms on the trail...ROFLMAO.

The solar latrines are for defecation only. Let's just say the odor from these locations is a bit overwhelming.

If you are a day hiker go before or after your hike. Your Whitney experience will not be enhanced by a visit to either of the latrines.

I understand just go before or after, although I have had to go while hiking and it just happens.. I've gotten in the habit of carrying toilet paper, moist wipes to clean hands and a zip lock bag to pack out the paper. It can be a HUGE relief to unload. Altitude, eating all day long, drinking gallons of water and exercise all play a part..

There also is the option of carrying disposable underwear if you are up for it (particularly above Trail Camp).
