The parking lot was open. There was no snow on the trail head up to the John Muir boundary line. But from that point, there was some old snow on the ground. Cramp-ons were sufficient throughout the entire weekend. Beginning Saturday afternoon, there was a snow flurry that came down harder along with an extremely harsh wind by nighttime. The temperature was about 10-15 degrees Farenheit. The total snowfall by morning was about 4-6 inches; deep enough that we couldn't complete trail crest even before the excessive snowfall on Saturday. However, there was one individual who arrived before us who seemed to have sucessfully completed the hike. Come Sunday, the weather was perfect.
