John, excellent video, thank you for sharing. You are the man!

Curious, is this all GoPro footage? Or did you use another camera at times?

In regards about descending to Mulkey Meadows and doing the loop back to rail Pass. The packers frequently descend the trail, so following he trail is much easier once they start the season.

Today’s hike was uneventful....ran into 5 PCT hikers. All skipping resupply at Horseshoe Meadows but exiting Onion Valley.

Came down Mulkey over the weekend, very easy trail to follow and clearly marked all the way down. Would require some real effort to lose the trail. Crossed two tiny streams of water. Was surprised to see so very few cars in the parking lot given that it was a holiday weekend.

Sorry, just saw this. This was only the phone camera. I stopped carrying a gopro at some point when phones got good. I'm still always amazed.

Water is on at TP/CP TH...
"No snow" on the passes loop...
Plenty of PCTers...fun/interesting conversations with Dutch and WA women...they seem to be dominating the trail...

I would guess yes, but don't know for sure...I always use the trail to Golden Trout Camp when I head in the direction of the Lakes, AP and NAP...

Well Sunday July 12, had a few drops and reports of not much above , yesterday we had a short period of real rain not a down pour but enough to put on rain gear, I was out and about during the rain and just about got wet without rain gear, heard one round of thunder,

Once this cycle start expect some form of moisture for the next few days , often the pattern is lite rain for short periods but can build into a real deal, trail flooded and chance the road may have rocks in the road way. Many will say "going early before the storm hits " I don't know when the storms hit so this must be published on the dark web somewhere? But I do know looking up into the dark you can't see a storm coming or building and from what direction. Say for example you leave at 10 PM (that was the time I heard yesterday) now that would put you somewhere near the summit at day break if the system arrives you are at the coldest period of the day , rain could turn to snow and may be a passing system with high wind , so the shorts ,trail runners , fluffy and a tootsie roll might not be enough to fight off hypothermia .

Think of weather reports as a suggestion not an absolute , watch the sky listen to others coming down and plan for the worst case condition , Great to turn around if you can't enjoy the weather at it's worst and recall you always have the ace I got you know.
