Hi All, it's been many years since I have hiked/climbed in the area and now that my sons are old enough to join me, I want to do some backpacking and maybe peakbagging with them. I love the Meysan Lake hike (plus permits are readily available at this point) and am thinking about hiking in and maybe trying to scramble up Mt Mallory with them. I have bagged over a dozen class 2-3 peaks in the Sierra over the years so I am familiar. But, there haven't been too many trip reports about climbing up Mallory anywhere online in the past few years. Is it still a viable scramble? Low snow year this year. Is that good or bad for this? Any info would be appreciated on those who have climbed in the Mallory/Irvine/LeConte area from Meysan Lake.

I was at Meysan Lake a week and a half ago. The far right chute up to Mallory was full of hard steep snow. The chutes on climbers left were clear of snow, and the second chute (looking L to R) looked like the path of least resistance.
