I summited on Thursday, June 2nd, on an overnight permit. My wife was celebrating a goal of returning to the mountain after double knee replacement surgery two years ago.
The main trail is now pretty much wide open and you will only set foot in a few small and insignificant snow banks. A lot of people were humping loads of unnecessary gear. My advice is leave your ice axes, helmets, micro spikes and crampons at home. You won't need them on the main trail.
